summer work

I've been drawing a lot, since I've been out of school. But, I'm not entirely convinced
it's been enough. I miss the resources on campus, but thank god I bought a scanner, I'd be lost with out it. Ahh well, whichever.

I've been compiling some semi-technical drawings I did for my sewing book series, so I'll have that up soon enough. I think I'm going to get back into my sketchbook, which has definitely been left in the dust. I'd like to get my hand back into oil painting, I started one, got about half in and decided that alizarin crimson and prussian blue make the most awful purple ever.

Hearts of Wood

I did this sculpture I did for my bookarts class. We had to disassemble a book and then use its parts to create a sculpture that embodied it. I used a wire frame in mine, as well as foam for the supports and stuff.

Thesis concepts

So these are the basic concept drawings of the dolls/toys I'm making for my thesis. I've designed their packaging already, but havent completed it since I want the figures to be done first so that I can get the measurements right. I've finished sculpting the dog groomer (who's named Katie) and I'll be painting and clothing her this week. :]

Love & Death

In my poetry workshop class we have to make a
"poetry" object. I want to make a small book
with little black and white prints on the inside
illustrating my poems, which happen to be centric
with "love and death". The illustrations wont be
directly related, but close. This is the idea I
hope to carry over into my thesis.

Just an update

Self portrait

So Thiel has us doing Celebrity and Self portraits
this week. I finished my portrait in class and adjusted
it via photoshop in a desperate attempt to make it look
like me. I like it none the less. Wooo, thanks Liz for
the pink ferret cheek idea. Hahaha dayum. Next up is
a grand anchor man homage. Be excited, I am.
